Privacy Policy

Map Your OS ("we", "us") operates mapyouros.com and its assessment products. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It is a general policy and not legal advice.

Information we collect

When you take an assessment we collect the name and email you provide, the pronouns you choose (optional, used only so your report refers to you correctly) and your answers to the tests, which we score to produce your report. When you buy, our payment provider collects your payment details (we never see or store your full card number). We also collect basic technical data (device, browser, approximate location) and how you found us (the website or campaign that referred you).

We use product analytics and session recording to understand how people use the site and where they get stuck. This records the pages you visit, what you click and type, how long you spend, and a replay of your on-screen activity, including your test answers. Recordings are used only to improve the product and are never sold.

If you share a referral invitation, we record that a purchase was made with your code so we can credit you. You see only whether each invitation was used, never the buyer's name or email. If you buy with a friend's invitation, your friend sees that an invitation was used, not who used it; we keep the code on your purchase record.

If you take an assessment as a candidate for a role, we also store the CV you upload and the text we extract from it, so the employer's report can take your experience into account. You can ask us to delete both at any time by emailing the support address below.

If you take an assessment as part of your company's team, your direct manager and the founder receive a private guide on how to support your development, written from your results, and leadership may receive a map of how the team works together and reports on working pairs. If you manage people, the people who report to you receive a short guide on working well with you, which describes your style in plain language and never shows your scores. These guides are for development only and are never used to hire, fire, rank, or set pay.

How we use it

To deliver your assessment and report, email you your secure access link, reminders about an assessment you bought but have not finished, a note when we receive your answers and when your report is ready, and support messages, process your purchase, prevent abuse, and improve the product. These are service emails about something you bought, not marketing. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We share data only with providers who help us run the service: hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), AI report generation (Anthropic Claude, with OpenAI and Google Gemini as backups), payments (Gumroad, as merchant of record), transactional email (Resend), and product analytics and session recording (PostHog). Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to run the site and sign you in, and analytics cookies and local storage (PostHog) to measure how the site is used and where visitors come from. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and ad-blocking or tracking-protection tools will usually stop analytics. To have your analytics and recordings deleted, email the support address below.

Retention and security

We keep your assessment data for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal reasons, then delete or anonymize it. Access links are stored only as one-way hashes. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but no method is perfectly secure.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@mapyouros.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

The service is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
